We are delighted that the Summer KiwiSaver scheme's Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) has again been awarded the WriteMark — the hallmark of document clarity and quality.
In a field known for its complexity, at Summer, the goal is to help people on their investment journey. Being awarded the WriteMark on the PDS is a reflection of our commitment to assisting investors make informed decisions.
The Summer PDS achieved the WriteMark for the first time in 2016, and has been awarded each time the PDS has been updated. The PDS also includes Forsyth Barr Investment Management Ltd’s award for Boutique Manager of the Year in the 2017 FundSource Awards.
"To retain the WriteMark, a document needs to be reassessed each time it changes," says Lynda Harris, WriteMark founder and CE of Write Limited.
The WriteMark is a quality mark awarded to documents written to a high standard of plain English. A document that carries the WriteMark:
- is clear and easy to read
- saves time
- builds goodwill between an organisation and the public
The WriteMark also shows that a document has been checked for clarity, grammar, and presentation against a rigorous standard.
Accessible information is a cornerstone for making wise decisions about investment and at Summer we are committed to ensuring that the PDS remains transparent and accessible. It clearly explains how the Summer KiwiSaver scheme works, its risks, and investors’ rights.
"The statement is a living document, and as it changes we will continue to keep it up to the WriteMark standard," says Trish Oakley, Head of the Summer KiwiSaver scheme.
