About Benjamin
Benjamin Lai joined Forsyth Barr Auckland in 2026, bringing more than 20 years of institutional portfolio management and financial markets experience to clients in New Zealand.
For 17 years, Benjamin worked in Global Markets for an international bank in Hong Kong, where he held senior leadership roles including Head of Fixed Income and Co-Head of Macro Institutional Sales. During this time, he advised institutional investors – including family offices, pension funds, and hedge funds – on investment strategy, helping them grow and protect their portfolios through changing market conditions.
Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys golf, rugby, ultramarathons, and spending time with his wife and three energetic boys.
Benjamin is working towards his financial adviser status and NZX Adviser accreditation.
