James Usmar joined Forsyth Barr Auckland in 2024, having spent 26 years in the financial industry as an Investment Adviser.

James is registered as a financial adviser and an NZX Adviser. Prior to his migration to New Zealand, he was registered as a Certified Financial Planner in the UK from 1998 to 2005. James also holds a Certificate in Higher Education in Natural Sciences from the University of Plymouth.

James currently sits on the board of the Grey Lynn Park Festival and is a member of the NZ Regenerative Ocean Farming Group Steering Committee. He is focused on the following areas of Investment advice: Investment planning; Stockbroking – global & local; ESG, Impact Investment and Catalytic Capital; Venture and Private Markets; Retirement planning; Immigration portfolios; QROPS & UK pension transfers.
