About Seby

Seby Reeves joined Forsyth Barr in 2018 and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry across New Zealand and London. Prior to joining the firm, he spent seven years at a New Zealand bank where he held senior roles spanning legal, corporate banking and private banking functions.

In addition to his role as an Investment Adviser, Seby is Manager of the Wellington office. He also previously served on the Board of Forsyth Barr Group Limited as part of the Future Leader Board Observer programme between 2024 and 2026.

Seby is a registered Financial Adviser and an accredited NZX Adviser. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University (2005) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago (2004). He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2005 and as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 2007. Between 2006 and 2011, he worked in London as a banking and finance lawyer, advising on project finance and private equity-led mergers and acquisitions.

Seby is President of the Wellington Club and Chairman of the Scots College Foundation.
