Forsyth Barr received the New Zealand Debt Market Issue of the Year award at the 2025 INFINZ Awards for Contact Energy’s NZ$250 million Green Capital Bond offer, where it acted as Arranger and Joint Lead Manager.
This is the fifth time Forsyth Barr has received this award, having previously been recognised in 2022, 2019, 2018 and 2015 – a reflection of our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in New Zealand’s capital markets.
The annual INFINZ Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in New Zealand’s financial sector and are recognised as the country’s leading financial industry awards.
The judges recognised the speed of transaction to support the proposed Manawa Energy acquisition and the continued growth in renewable electricity generation. They noted that the 50% equity credit provided Contact with an efficient cost of capital and signalled to the market its commitment to an investment grade issuer rating. The green label and NZDX listing were also highlighted as positive features.
