At Forsyth Barr our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the advice and guidance that supports them in achieving their financial goals. New Plymouth Ladies Luncheon

On Monday 2 March, we had the pleasure of hosting our International Women’s Day Ladies Luncheon in New Plymouth, and what a fantastic afternoon it was.
A special thank you to Dr Peggy Chen for her insightful and engaging presentation on protecting your skin for the future. Peggy shared practical, research-backed advice, helped debunk some of the hype around popular skincare trends, and gave us simple steps we can take now to support long-term skin health.
The goody bags were a highlight — complete with fabulous skincare samples generously provided by Peggy — and the bag hooks were an absolute hit!
Most importantly, it was wonderful to come together to celebrate International Women’s Day, connect, and focus on investing in ourselves — both personally and financially.

Motherhood and careers unfiltered

Balancing a career and motherhood looks different for every woman, but the conversation around it matters. To mark International Women’s Day 2026, the Forsyth Barr Nelson advisory team hosted a morning tea bringing together working mums in the Nelson community for an open and honest discussion about the realities of motherhood and careers.
The conversation was led by Associate Adviser Sarah Frost and moderated by Amanda Phipps of Forsyth Barr. Panellists Claire Broad, Phillipa Pattison, and Melisa Kappely shared personal experiences, lessons learned, and reflections on navigating professional ambitions alongside family life.
The discussion sparked thoughtful conversation around the room, with many attendees connecting over the shared challenges and rewards of the juggle.
Creating space for conversations like these is important. When women share their experiences, insights and support, it helps build stronger connections and a more supportive community.
