Forsyth Barr was proud to sponsor Women Who Invest at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School – an evening filled with insightful discussions on finance, economics, and investment.
Emceed by Forsyth Barr Investment Adviser Melissa McCosh, the event featured an inspiring lineup of speakers. Alli Kennedy, founder of Sharenanigans – a board game designed to break down barriers around who can invest and what we should invest in – encouraged students to see that investing doesn’t have to be scary or complicated.
Rangi Ruru alumna Sharon Zollner took us on a fast-paced journey through the current economic landscape, while Ruth Richardson tackled today’s geopolitical and defence challenges, urging us to get real, be bold, and push for meaningful reform.
The evening wrapped up with a dynamic Q&A session, giving guests the chance to ask their own burning questions.

The event featured two incredible speakers – Forsyth Barr’s Debbie Wills, who shared her experiences as a woman teaching in the Arabian Gulf, and Lisa Maxwell, who spoke about her personal journey and how bodybuilding transformed her life.

Forsyth Barr Ashburton was proud to support Zonta International's 2025 IWD Breakfast, featuring guest speaker Barbara Dreaver, ONZM, TVNZ Pacific Correspondent.
Forsyth Barr Investment Adviser Michelle Parkin noted, "It was a powerful talk and highlighted how Barbara sees her role as primarily providing a voice for people across the Pacific Islands. Barbara shared gripping insights, including some terrifying situations she's experienced navigating challenging and often male-dominated political landscapes across the Pacific."

Forsyth Barr Whangārei was proud to host an evening of fashion, finance, and connection at Shizazz Fashion Boutique in celebration of International Women’s Day, supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
Guests enjoyed a stunning fashion show featuring the latest international and local designs, alongside valuable financial insights from Forsyth Barr’s Monique Swanepoel and Jeanette Schimanski. They shared perspectives on women's financial journeys, the challenges they face, and how Forsyth Barr is making financial advice more accessible.
The event aligned with this year’s #AccelerateAction theme by inspiring women to prioritise their well-being - from health through to financial independence.
We have raised over $2,000 in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Forsyth Barr and Cambridge Chamber of Commerce | International Women's Day Lunch
Forsyth Barr was proud to sponsor the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce New Zealand International Women's Day Lunch on Friday, 7th March.
This members-only lunch is part of their Women's Business Networking series held quarterly and designed to connect women in leading roles.
During the event, guests heard from the CEO of Waipā District Council, Stephanie O'Sullivan, who shared her experiences, as well as her vision for Waipā. Louise Upston, Minister for Social Development, was in attendance along with a great mix of businesswomen.
Forsyth Barr Cambridge Manager and Investment Adviser, Michelle Rolley also spoke about how Forsyth Barr can assist women in their investment journey. Her open-ended question of "Why do women make better investors than men?" fielded some excellent answers.

Forsyth Barr's Tauranga team celebrated International Women’s Day with an evening at BLAKCHAOS' design room in Mount Maunganui. The evening brought together local professionals to hear engaging presentations, experience a styling showcase, and to take part in informal networking.
The speakers for the evening were the visionary founders behind Blak Clothing and Chaos & Harmony Shoes, Teresa Hodges and Beks Anderson. Teresa and Beks each recounted their remarkable journeys and real-world experience in building their successful brands.
Jeannine Tolley and Stacey Russell from Forsyth Barr, talked about improving financial literacy and how women can empower themselves by understanding the importance of investing for the future. They also shared insights into how women can make the most of their investments.
Thank you to the speakers and all of the attendees for making the event a success. It was a valuable opportunity to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other.

International Women's Day (IWD), celebrated each year, is a time when we can acknowledge the achievements of women and inspire others on their individual journeys. This day not only commemorates the progress made in advancing women's empowerment but also highlights the ongoing efforts to address challenges and promote a more inclusive and equitable society. The theme for IWD 2024 is #InspireInclusion. Inclusion creates a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.
In celebration ahead of IWD, we are bringing together a robust talented panel to talk about what inclusion looks like across ESG, arts and sports in Aotearoa and what we can continue to do to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women. Fore the Girls | Corporate Golf Lessons
Forsyth Barr invite you to join us in this four week programme with golf instructor and NZPGA golf professional Hillary O'Connor. This will be held over four consecutive Wednesdays at 4:30pm-5:30pm.
Over the four lessons you will be taught the basic golf fundamentals, getting you ready for the corporate golf season. This will be followed by an on-course session along with 6-9 holes at the end.
All equipment will be provided and no golfing experience is necessary.

We opened the series with our first event on Wednesday, 14th August. This special live evening featured the women behind the podcast "Three-Gals One Beehive". Forsyth Barr Investment Advisers Nicola Fawcett and Nicki Vaughan introduced our speakers, Georgina Stylianou, Brigitte Morten, and Holly Bennett, who delivered an entertaining evening of New Zealand politics without the jargon and spin. Thanks to those who attended and made it a successful night of celebrating women in business. Proceeds from the night went to support the National Collective of Independent Women's Refuges.
