2023 Hawke's Bay Wine Auction raises $300,000 for Cranford Hospice

/

Forsyth Barr is delighted to have again been a Platinum Sponsor of the annual Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction.

The Auction was held on Saturday 16th September at Toitoi Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre. At the event, attendees mingled with the region's winemakers and tasted some of the
lots of wine on auction (many of which were specially blended).

The feature artwork, titled 'Te Mata Woolshed', 2023 was also auctioned. This stunning landscape artwork is an acrylic on canvas by Hawke's Bay artist Josh Lancaster. We encourage you to read more about the artwork and the artist.

The Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction is the oldest wine auction in New Zealand, celebrating its 31st auction. This year the auction raised over $300,000. This means that the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction continues as Cranford Hospice’s largest annual private contributor with a cumulative total of over $4.5 million gifted, since inception in 1991, to support the work of the hospice. This is an amazing result and testament to the generosity of the Hawke’s Bay community.

Cranford Hospice is Hawke’s Bay’s leading palliative care provider and plays a vital role for many local families during the most difficult of times. While it does receive funding from the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, it faces an annual shortfall that can only be met by donations from the community and through events like the Wine Auction.

At Forsyth Barr, we’re very proud to be part of a Hawke’s Bay community that comes together to support events and organisations like this.
