About Hamish

Hamish Bond joined Forsyth Barr Cambridge in 2012 on a part-time basis. Having completed his university studies, Hamish is working with Forsyth Barr with the objectives of improving public KiwiSaver literacy and continued personal professional development within the financial industry.

Hamish is registered as a financial adviser.  He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Finance) from Massey University and a Graduate Diploma in Personal Financial Planning, also from Massey University.

Hamish was a member of the senior NZ Rowing team from 2006 to 2016, and over that period won eight World Championship titles and gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics.  In both 2012 and 2015 Hamish received the prestigious Halberg Supreme Award honours with his team-mate Eric Murray, and in 2014 Hamish and Eric were named the World Rowing Male Crew of the Year. In 2018, Hamish and Eric were awarded rowing’s most prestigious award, the 2018 Thomas Keller Medal, which recognises an Outstanding Career in Rowing.  Since the Rio Olympics Hamish has switched his sporting focus to cycling and swiftly became New Zealand's first double international endurance athlete following his selection for the 2017 World Championship NZ cycling team.  In 2018 he represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games, where he achieved a bronze medal in the men’s individual time trial cycling.  Hamish continues to pursue his sporting goals alongside his role at Forsyth Barr.
